School & CBO Partnerships Dinner

The group discussed plans for the next School/CBO Partnerships Dinner. Ideas that were floated: developing guiding questions for discussion; sharing of best and highly effective practices; IMAG1350 working together to develop a shared agenda for advocacy; giving special appreciation and acknowledgements; sharing from both principals & CBOs, and considering creating a laid back/less formal atmosphere for the dinner event, etc. Further planning and discussion will take place at the next CBO/School Partnerships meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 29 @ 12 noon. All are welcome to attend. Location: the new SESEC/Vietnamese Friendship Association Offices in Columbia City.

Professional Development

The group discussed potential professional development opportunities for CBOs. A few suggestions were: Partner with larger organizations that may have access to resources, trainings, etc.; develop peer teams; develop and foster inter-CBO communications and/or a network; data access opportunities; access to training opportunities through Seattle Public Schools.
